As new people in Princess
Chulabhorn’s School, of course we have to obeyed the rules from the school. We
have to leave the dorm at 6.20 am, we have to wear skirt instead of trousers
and we have to follow the ceremony every morning at 7.20 am. Therefore, we did
as we told. At 6.20 am we were walking to the school along with the students.
They stopped by the canteen to have breakfast. We waited for the ceremony
inside the office while having our breakfast. Not long after that, the teachers
started coming. Some of the teachers wore Thai Traditional outfit or formal
clothes. Turned out, after the ceremony, we took picture together at the
office. Actually the school were celebrating a charity so there was no class
period. Both the students and the teacher prepared the charity along side of
the school’s drive way. Before that, they had to attend the Buddhist ceremony
at the school hall and pray. We got the chance to witness the process of the
ceremony and took several pictures as well.
Lunch time! All the foods were
ready to be served. There were a lot of food stands. Thai traditional food,
cookies, tart, ice creams, soups and many others. The teachers of Foreign
Language Department then invited us to join the charity. We could pick any food
that we want. Teacher Preauw walked with us along the drive way to show and
describe the food they provided. Even though there were a lot of foods, we
could not eat them all. We were only looking for Halal food. Finally, we found
what we’ve been looking for. We got three traditional Thai soup, two
sandwiches, four Thai milk drink, four ice creams and a bowl of fruits and
vegetables salad. That was a very pleasant lunch I have ever had. Because it
was free!!
After having lunch, we were preparing our things to go back to the
university. At the moment, teacher Preauw was in the class teaching. So,
teacher May got us to the Van and we were on the way to Phranakhon Rajhabat
University already. Arrived, we were welcomed by Nina and Nana who just came
back from the canteen to buy some meals. The rest of the day spent to take a
rest and do laundries. We had our dinner at the dorm room then finally had some
sleep.
We all know that it would not be
easy for us to teach in different country, but out of all the worries we got
many back ups both from the University and the school itself. Lastly, the
observation week was over. Next thing we knew was to prepare to be a as
professional as the real teacher.
